After School and Extra-Curricular Activities

Sporting Activities

We have a range of sporting activities for our pupils. These Include:

  • Gaelic Football

  • Camogie

  • Soccer (boys and girls)

  • Netball

  • Basketball

  • Cross Country Club

The activities after school are organised with the help of qualified coaches and several of our teachers, in co-operation with the PE Department. Pupils have the opportunity to compete in local and regional competitions in these sports.


 

Clubs

Pupils may also join a range of clubs including:

  • School Choir

  • Chamber Ensemble

  • Irish Traditional Group

  • Computer Club

  • My Maths Breakfast Club

  • Drama 2 dance Club

  • Art Club

  • Eco Club


 

Music

Pupils may take up a musical instrument. The school has Peripatetic tutors during the school day. Pupils can choose to have lessons for the following musical instruments:

  • Voice

  • Piano

  • Drums

  • Guitar

  • Woodwind

  • Strings

  • Flute

  • Violin


 

Homework Club

Homework enables pupils to achieve their full potential. Therefore, Year 8 pupils have the opportunity to join the Homework Club where teachers and support staff are available to help pupils with their homework tasks and activities. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet supportive.

The Homework Club operates Monday to Thursday from 3.30 pm until 4.30 pm in the laptop suite to allow pupils the opportunity to avail of ICT facilities.
